South Korea could face a lockdown for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Officials are considering raising restrictions to the highest level as the country battles its worst wave of infections. Over 700 new infections were confirmed on Dec 14. Testing has recently been ramped up to about 89,000 people a day, compared to just 22,000 in early October.
